Steve Quartermain took up post as Chief Planner in CLG last August.

You set questions for him, here are the answers.

    (Speaking as a Norfolk lad) I would have thought that as a Norwich fan, Mr. Quartermain would have suffered enough without becoming Chief Planner.

    On a more serious note, it is depressing to hear planning talked of in such a passive way. It is all well and good to prepare for the upturn in the economy, but what should be happening is that planning should be used to stimulate that recovery.

    It is also depressing to note that very few LPA’s seem to be taking his advice on using their spare staff to get their LDF’s done. What are the chances that we may see some authorities never getting their LDF’s done? (as with the previous LP).
