Read more…September’s Planning Market Insight Report revealed that applications for home improvements continued to outperform the average rise in applications in August, but for the first time since applications began to recover last June the difference was negligible. In August, Homeowner and associated consents were 15 per cent higher than August 2020, compared to an increase of 8 per cent in applications overall. This 7 per cent difference is similar to that seen in July (6 per cent), and lower than the 20 per cent difference in June applications. Both July and August figures indicate the beginning of a slowdown in applications related to home improvements, which have consistently outperformed the baseline increase over the last 12 months.
Read more…This month’s Planning Market Insight Report took at look at planning application submissions to Local Authorities in Wales. There are 25 Local Planning Authorities in Wales, with 22 unitary authorities and three National Park authorities.

We’re a couple of months away from the Planning Portal Annual Conference on 15-18 November 2021 and we have a whole day dedicated to Planning Reform with some of the leading industry figures joining us for keynote speeches, panel discussions and break out sessions.
The September Planning Market Insight Report has revealed that from April to July, the monthly total number of planning application submissions remained consistent but with varying percentage increases across the regions. However, the change from July to August has seen most regions experience a double-figure seasonal decline, with the exception of the South West, which is the only region down by a single figure – just 6%.
