Using Technology to Transform Planning and Building Services

by on February 19, 2021

The Planning Portal were proud sponsors of the ‘Developer’ category at the Bristol Property Awards on 12 February. The Portal team would like to extend a huge congratulations to the winner, Urban Creation, and all other finalists on their achievement!

Held virtually, the event was a great success with networking opportunities, a keynote speech from Lucian Cook (Head of Residential Research at Savills), sponsor-hosted hubs and a live awards ceremony.

Scott Alford and Ian Foster from the Planning Portal hosted the hub ‘Using Technology to Transform Planning & Building services’ to offer a snapshot insight into the latest developments being made at the Planning Portal and the market analysis provided.

If you missed the session, the slides are available to download here.

The Planning Portal facilitates c.90 per cent of planning application submissions to Local Authorities in England and Wales. During these uncertain times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has never been a greater time to work more efficiently using this digital service.

To stay up to date on changes within the planning and building industries, there are several Planning Portal resources and communications you can access free of charge.

  • Weekly eNews – in association with ‘The Planner’, the official magazine of the RTPI, this provides you with the latest planning news.
  • Monthly Architectural Bulletin – with content specifically tailored to those working in architecture and planning, this bulletin provides you with planning news, opinions and important changes to our service.
  • Planning Market Insight Report – the earliest source of planning market data available exclusively at the point of application submission, featuring key high-level statistics on applications as well as deeper analysis on specific sectors or application topics.

If your company regularly submit online applications, our team would welcome the opportunity to provide a free virtual CPD session to update you on the new planning application service that is currently in development and to ensure you are gaining maximum savings and efficiencies from using the service.

If you would like to receive any of the above communications, or would like more information, please get in touch at
