Survey: We want to know what the planning industry thinks of new workplace diversity proposals

by on July 5, 2022

The British Standards Institute has recently released its second draft of the PAS 1948 Code of Practice, which pertains to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in the workplace.

The PAS provides recommendations on steps which organisations can undertake to support and develop diversity and equality. It covers a wide range of aspects, such as recruitment, brand creation, leadership approach and targets.

You can read the draft here

In response to this draft, Planning Portal have teamed up with Building People to gain perspective on how the planning and building industry feels about these ideas, and what they mean for our sector as a whole.

Building People facilitate a socially conscious network of organisations and employers across the building sector. Their focus is on connecting organisations which represent and work with minorities, to help increase diversity within building and provide careers and opportunities to under-represented groups across the industry. You can find out more about them here

We’re both very excited to hear your responses to the draft, and have put together a short survey to collect your thoughts.
