LPA tweets?

by on March 2, 2009

I’ve just been looking at the Lichfield DC website and was mightily impressed. It looks great and has found a brilliant use for Twitter.

As we’re looking for the best local planning sites I’d be very interested to hear your opinions on the what makes a good local authority planning website.

Lichfield are using Twitter to inform residents of new planning applications being added to their web site. Twitter allows you to send short messages via web, phone or email in a very simple straightforward way.

  1. Hi Chris,

You might be interested to know that we’ve taken this one step further and launched a national service that alerts people of planning applications in their area via Twitter:

    http://www.twitterplan.co.uk/

It covers 324 local authorities and this number is steadily growing thanks to the team of volunteers at http://www.planningalerts.com/

Please give us your feedback but we won’t publish any comments that are not constructive or that criticise any individual, any named business or any local authority. Please note, all comments will be moderated before being published.
