Website issue update
I can’t tell you how sorry I am for the inconvenience todays outage has undoubtably caused you.
Unfortunately this catastrophe has been entirely out of our hands and is a result of issues at our hosting company affecting a significant number of sites.
They are working to resolve this as soon as possible.
In the meantime i can do nothing but apologise.
Chris

I obtained Planning (through the Portal) and Building Regulation permission only to have A Water company charge £867 and then refuse any building within 4.0 metres of an adopted drain. Even when the Water Company sent me their plans showing their drains, the plans did not show sizes of pipes or their invert levels. So when a 110 mm pipe was visible inside a manhole everyone assumed that this was the Water Companies drain in question. What we didn’t know was that there was a much larger drain two metres lower following the same route as the 110 mm pipe that I hoped to divert. Even if full planning permission is granted it is still in the hands of the monopoly water companies to refuse permission for a project to proceed. So why are Adopted Drains completely outside the planning process and so exorbitantly expensive?
