Planning Portal Blog 
It would be interesting to see some stats relating to the 1,000,000 applications (e.g. some stats to show which authorities are handling the most apps, the types of apps submitted, which individuals/organisations are making the most applications, etc). Does the portal have any plans to publish something like this?

we’ve published many of the stats you refer to over time but never as a one off complete overview.
I’ll speak with our stats team and see what we can do.
As an ordinary user I have found the process of submitting a planning application on the portal very frustrating. As fast as I fill in the boxes or add documents they disappear into the ether. Coming back to the application it is very difficult to locate the partially completed one, so I start again. After 4 attempts, each taking a full working day, I accepted defeat and submitted our application by post.
