Planning Portal to Offer Planning Application Services Across Wales

We’re happy to announce that from Spring 2025, Planning Portal will begin offering planning application services across Wales, following the closure of Planning Applications Wales.
The launch of Planning Portal in Wales ensures a seamless continuation of service for applicants while introducing the full suite of Planning Portal features and benefits.
Powered by TerraQuest, Planning Portal is proud to support Welsh applicants and authorities with optimised digital services. As the operator of both Planning Applications Wales and Planning Portal in England, we are committed to delivering a seamless, modern planning experience. This transition ensures continuity while introducing enhanced planning application features to Wales. The Application Process – What’s Changing?
Since Planning Portal already powers Planning Applications Wales, the application experience for users will remain unchanged. The service will operate fully under the Planning Portal brand, using the same trusted platform and model already in place in England. No new systems, no disruptions – just a new name.
Planning Applications Wales Accounts
The Welsh Government is transferring existing Planning Applications Wales accounts to Planning Portal. This means that from 31 March 2025, users of Planning Applications Wales will be able to log in to Planning Portal using their existing details.
Upon first login, users will be prompted to review and accept our terms and conditions. Once accepted, users will have full access to their previous, current, and draft applications, just as before.
New Features & Benefits
With the transition to Planning Portal, Welsh applicants will gain access to enhanced tools and features to simplify the application process, including:
- Location Plan Tool – Allowing applicants to generate compliant location plans directly within the application platform, removing the need to purchase plans from third-party providers.
- Flexible Payment Options – Introducing consistent payment options across all Welsh authorities, including the ability to nominate a third party (such as a client) to pay for applications.
Next Steps
- Existing users: Log in to Planning Portal from 31 March using your current details and accept the terms and conditions.
- New users: If you are submitting a planning application for the first time, you will need to create a Planning Portal account from 31 March.
Planning Portal are hosting webinars to walk through the new features that weren’t previously available on Planning Applications Wales.

Cyfrifon Planning Applications Wales
Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn trosglwyddo cyfrifon presennol Planning Applications Wales i Planning Portal. Mae hyn yn golygu, o 31 Mawrth 2025, y gall defnyddwyr Planning Applications Wales fewngofnodi i Planning Portal gan ddefnyddio eu manylion presennol.
Wrth fewngofnodi am y tro cyntaf, caiff defnyddwyr eu hannog i adolygu a derbyn ein telerau ac amodau. Ar ôl cael eu derbyn, caiff defnyddwyr fynediad llawn i’w ceisiadau blaenorol, presennol a drafft, yn union fel o’r blaen.

Drwy drosglwyddo i Planning Portal, bydd ceisyddion yng Nghymru yn cael mynediad i adnoddau a nodweddion gwell i symleiddio’r broses o wneud cais, gan gynnwys:
- Adnodd cynlluniau lleoliad – Galluogi ceisyddion i lunio cynlluniau lleoliad sy’n cydymffurfio’n uniongyrchol o fewn y llwyfan gwneud cais, gan ddileu’r angen i brynu cynlluniau gan ddarparwyr trydydd parti.
- Opsiynau talu hyblyg – Cyflwyno opsiynau talu cyson ar draws pob awdurdod yng Nghymru, gan gynnwys y gallu i enwebu trydydd parti (fel cleient) i dalu am geisiadau.

- Defnyddwyr presennol: Gallwch fewngofnodi i Planning Portal o 31 Mawrth gan ddefnyddio eich manylion presennol a derbyn y telerau ac amodau.
- Defnyddwyr newydd: Os byddwch yn cyflwyno cais cynllunio am y tro cyntaf, bydd angen i chi greu cyfrif Planning Portal o 31 Mawrth.
Mae’r Porth Cynllunio yn cynnal gweminarau i gerdded drwy’r nodweddion newydd nad oeddent ar gael o’r blaen ar Geisiadau Cynllunio Cymru.
