Our Building Control Portal is getting an upgrade

Just over three months ago, we launched our Building Control Portal, and we’re thrilled with the positive response and the growing engagement from our users.  

Now, with nearly 5,000 applications created and almost 100 Building Control Bodies and Registered Building Control Approvers onboarded to receive applications from us, it feels like the perfect time to unveil our newest service features – due to be rolled out over the coming months. 

What’s still to come… 

We’re committed to remaining agile, consistently providing a service which is optimised for the needs of all our users. Since launching our Building Control Portal we’ve been collecting your feedback via a series of surveys, workshops and interviews, and during this process identified a strong demand from some Building Control Bodies (BCBs) to have oversight of individual application documentation prior to providing fees to applicants.

With this in mind, we’re thrilled to announce we’re introducing a functionality to allow exactly that – meaning BCBs will have the ability to fully assess applications and supporting documentation, on a case-by-case basis, before requesting fees. 

We’re know this change will streamline the application process for all our stakeholders, removing any fee-related hurdles for good! 

It’s a fully integrated process – authorities will be notified when an applicant needs a fee provided, and applicants will be updated as soon as the authority has confirmed the fee – meaning quick and simple submission of applications, all within the portal. The process is also complete with a range of handy online payment options, including the ability to nominate a client to pay – this feature has also been improved, making it even easier to use.
