by on October 14, 2022

The National Planning Conference, held on 17th and 18th November 2022 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, will see panel discussions with key thought leaders from across the planning industry, sharing their ideas and knowledge on a range of topics. The conference is the perfect forum to share your views, learn something new and network with the industry’s key stakeholders.

On the second day of the Conference, 18th November, we have the honour of welcoming Chief Planners from the UK and Ireland to discuss the different approaches taken to planning reform across their nations. The panel will include Joanne Averley, the Chief Planner at the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), Paul Hogan, who is the Principal Advisor for Planning at Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Government of Ireland, Neil Hemmington, Chief Planner at Welsh Government, Angus Kerr, Chief Planner and Director of Regional Planning at the Department for Infrastructure and Dr Fiona Simpson, Chief Planner for Scottish Government.

This is a unique opportunity to hear the views and experience of those at the head of national planning.

A critical policy area for all the administrations, this discussion facilitated by Victoria Hills, Chief Executive of the Royal Town Planning Institute, will give a candid view about the different approaches to the challenges and opportunities of reform.

It promises to be the lecture that anybody interested in the future of planning cannot afford to miss.
