Recent site outages
As you may have noticed, the Planning Portal suffered two significant site outages this week. One on Monday afternoon and another on Tuesday morning.
We can only apologise for the inconvenience this will have caused you and your customers. We pride ourselves on our customer service and feel we’ve let you down on these two instances.
We are currently investigating the detailed reasons why these outages happened with our technical supplier. The initial findings are that the system that manages the user log-in failed and this caused other areas of the solution to fall over.
Still experiencing problems with planning application form not accepting box checking such that the form cannot be completed and the application lodged?
Hi Ian
This sounds like a different issue. I’ve sent your email address and the description above to our support desk.
Rotten luck so soon new in the job, Sarah !
I have just spent the whole afternoon struggling with one perfectly simple Listed Building Consent appeal that I could have done in an hour or less on paper.
It is refusing to upload documents that I know very well are PDF, stating that it is not an acceptable format – but if I scanned the PDF document and saved it as a PDF it then didn’t complain … but the document subsequently disappeared.
It also refused to accept “To Follow” documents under “Plans etc sent to the LPA with the application” once documents had been uploaded under that heading.
On going back to check everything prior to submission, some documents had simply disappeared.
Serious problems for your technical experts.
Thanks for your comment Trevor. I’ll pass this on to the technical team first thing. Sarah
Don’t you mean a breakdown in communications via Planning Portal?
You’re speaking American gobbledegook?
They say power outages and we say power cuts!
My apologies Leigh. In this case IT speak rather than an Americanism – though perhaps the same thing?… I’ll consider myself reprimanded and watch out for the jargon in future! Sarah
